Terms of Use
Last updated: 13 July 2026
In short: Use Snailbox for its intended purpose — scanning and tracking your own mail — and don't try to abuse or reverse-engineer it. Snailbox Pro is an auto-renewing subscription billed and cancelled entirely through the App Store. The app is provided "as is": it's a tool to help you keep track of due dates, not a guarantee that you'll never miss one, so always verify anything important against the original document.
1. Agreement to these terms
These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your use of the Snailbox iOS app ("Snailbox", "the app") and this website, provided by Oleg Ruban ("we", "us"). By downloading, installing, or using Snailbox, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the app.
2. Apple's standard license
Snailbox is licensed to you under Apple's standard End User License Agreement (EULA), which governs your right to use the app itself. These Terms sit alongside that license and cover the parts of the service Apple's EULA doesn't: how the app is meant to be used, subscriptions, and our responsibilities as the developer.
3. Who can use Snailbox
You must be able to form a binding contract to use Snailbox, and Snailbox is not directed at children under 13. If you're using the app on behalf of someone else (for example, as a caregiver), you're responsible for making sure that use complies with these Terms.
4. Your account and data
Snailbox doesn't require you to create an account. Your mail, scans, and extracted data are stored on your device and, if you enable it, synced through your own iCloud account. You're responsible for the accuracy of the information you scan or enter, and for keeping your device and iCloud account secure. See our Privacy Policy for how your data is handled.
5. Acceptable use
You agree to use Snailbox only for its intended purpose — scanning, organizing, and tracking your own mail and documents. You agree not to:
- Use the app to process documents you don't have the right to scan or store.
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the app, except where applicable law permits it.
- Interfere with, overload, or attempt to gain unauthorized access to the cloud analysis service or any other part of the app's infrastructure.
- Use the app in any way that violates applicable law.
6. Snailbox Pro subscriptions
Snailbox Pro is an auto-renewing subscription sold through Apple's App Store, with monthly and yearly options. By subscribing, you agree that:
- Payment is charged to your Apple Account at confirmation of purchase, and again at the start of each renewal period, unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the current period ends.
- Subscriptions automatically renew unless auto-renew is turned off in your Apple ID account settings at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
- Where offered, a free trial converts to a paid subscription automatically unless you cancel before the trial ends.
- You can manage or cancel your subscription anytime in Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions on your device, or at apps.apple.com/account/subscriptions.
- All payments are processed by Apple. Refunds are handled by Apple under its own refund policies — we don't have the ability to issue refunds directly. Request one via reportaproblem.apple.com or your device's purchase history.
- Prices may change for future billing periods; where required, Apple will notify you in advance of any change.
7. What Snailbox Pro includes
Pro removes the free scan limit, adds cloud assist for letters on-device AI can't confidently read, iCloud sync, lead-time reminders, folders, search, widgets, and export to PDF/CSV. Features may be added, changed, or retired over time as the app evolves; where a change materially reduces what's included, we'll aim to note it in the app's release notes.
8. Disclaimer of warranty
Snailbox is a tool to help you read, organize, and remember your mail — it is not a substitute for reading the original document yourself, and it doesn't guarantee that every amount, due date, or detail will be extracted correctly, or that every reminder will fire as expected. For anything with real financial, legal, or medical consequences, always verify the details against the original letter.
The app is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including — to the extent permitted by law — warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
9. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including late fees, missed payments, or lost data, arising from your use of or inability to use Snailbox. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law.
10. Termination
You can stop using Snailbox at any time by deleting the app. We may suspend or discontinue any part of the service (such as cloud assist) with reasonable notice where practical, for example if we retire a feature or a third-party provider it depends on changes its terms.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms as the app evolves. When we make material changes, we'll update the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, note it in the app or on this site. Continuing to use Snailbox after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
12. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, except where mandatory local consumer-protection law provides otherwise.
